Our Vision is one step closer
What you have been waiting for....
After engaging with the community of Tualatin, we believe this is what you are all asking for... a central place where community can share and be together.
Norwood Forest Park & Community Gardens!
Norwood Forest Park & Community Gardens is within the immediate walking vicinity of the Pennington Heights neighborhood, Tualatin Woods neighborhood, and the (future) Autumn Sunrise development. It allows for the community to enjoy this central park location with the Church and their neighbors. This public space will provide the community the ability to walk their dogs, meander through forested paths, enjoy picnics, play sports, work in the community gardens, and watch their children play together.
Our vision puts a park at the center of all these housing developments making it the focus for the community that has been deprived of a local nearby park for decades. It also attempts to preserve the last remaining part of Norwood Forest frontage along SW Norwood Rd for everyone to enjoy. Remember the Autumn Sunrise subdivision now has no remaining native trees...
Option 2: Norwood Forest Park and Condominiums
If 940 new apartments and homes already approved throughout Tualatin is not enough, and we need more housing...perhaps residential condos and mixed commercial use can be a good compromise between the need to build for future communities and serve the existing within the area.
The residential zone would comprise of condos above, with a mixed commercial zone below. Commercial spaces would include restaurants such as a bistro, small grocery, or small shops. This would serve South Tualatin's expansion efforts and act as an outpost for the community of Norwood and provide much-needed amenities to serve (future) residents of CPAH Plambeck Apartments. Also, by creating a local commercial area, residents wouldn't need to drive long distances for supplies and in effect this would reduce traffic and emissions at the same time.
This concept would be a great compromise for the developer by providing smart growth and planning. Please share this vision with your neighbors, community leaders, and the city. A RH-HR zone with almost 300 units of apartments and possibly more, just does not work in this condensed area.

Working together we can make tualatin a great city!
